I cheated yesterday. So I'm doing a 'do over' for Day 12. Last night I went to a pumpkin carving / Halloween party. I cheating, but didn't do too bad. I moderated my drinking and eating quite well, but still didn't stay on plan. I made a Darth Vader pumpkin...lol
Ok, so it's not too great...but I tried! :-)
The diet worked well today...still getting tired of salads during lunch...but it's the easiest and most practical thing to make. Chicken and green beans was dinner...was pretty tasty.
I joined a new site I leaned about today - Daily Mile. It tracks how much jogging you do. I also downloaded an app for my phone that goes with the site - runstar. It allows you to track your workouts and then posts them to Daily Mile.
I'm off to bed! :-)

Day 11 - Still going strong.
I haven't fallen off the wagon yet!! I'm so proud of how serious I'm taking this. Maybe its the boredom from deployment...or perhaps the motivation to be a drop-dead gorgeous bride next year...but whatever it is...I'm proud of myself. :-) I've shave a little time off of my jogging route. It took about 30 minutes when I started...now I'm down to around 20. :-) I haven't drank as much water today as I should have...but I'm still sticking to only water and green tea. I really want more sweets, but I'll live. :-)

Day 8 - Where did that .5 come from?!
Still on plan...one day at a time. I weighed myself this morning after being on plan one week...I gained 0.5 lb since weighing myself last - I'm at 181.8. Not really sure where the .5 came from...but I'll just keep moving along.
I know I need to step it up in the exercise department. I'm not working out after day - and I need to be if I want to see more results. I don't have any excuses this week...so it needs to happen! :-)
Overall today went okay...I incorporated a few other foods in my diet since I went grocery shopping last night. I had tilapia tonight...was really good!
In other news...I sent Thomas his first care package AND ordered my wedding dress today. I'm really excited...hopefully the dress will need tons of alterations due to my weight loss well it comes in...here's hoping! :-)

Day 7 - I discover sugar-free Jello.
I've made it a whole week! It certainly hasn't been easy, but I'm certainly looking forward to weighing in tomorrow morning! Today went ok...had hard boiled eggs and an orange for breakfast...Veggie soup for lunch...turkey burgers and broccoli for dinner.
I looked into my 17 Day Diet workbook tonight and realized sugar-free jello was on the Cycle 1 food list...definitely got some of that when I grocery shopped tonight.
Other than that I had a pretty uneventful day. I think I'll finish my fiance's care package tonight - he had me pick up the new Batman game for him tonight so I have everything ready for the first package to send him. :-)
Here's how it looks so far -
Some of the contents...Thomas' version of porn and candy.
Other contents include the XBox game mentioned above, more tuna, and some nuts (the edible kind).

Day 6 - Still want a cheeseburger.
I feel like such a fat kid. I still want that burger. BUT....unlike many other times I've been following a plan...I have not strayed to get said burger. :-)
Today I had 3 hard boiled eggs and an orange for breakfast...along with green tea.
A gigantic salad for lunch.
Chicken and green beans for dinner. The chicken breast was pretty gigantic.
I feel like I need more variety for lunch. Getting pretty tired of the same old salad each day. Maybe try some soups?
I found a very helpful recipe list on The Docter's website - Cycle 1 Recipe List
I haven't tried too many recipes on the list yet though.
Of to find some!

Day 5 - A small loss
Day 5 - Sunday, October 16, 2011
I weighed myself this morning (despite telling myself I would only weigh once a week!) - 181.3 So that's a loss of 2.7 pounds so far. It's small...but still a loss!!
Today is a rather lazy day...watching football...Go Steelers!!
I want to run today, but I am SO sore from the 5k yesterday. Perhaps once this football game is over I will get my ass up and moving! haha
I also want to work on a care package to send to my fiance...perhaps pictures of that will come soon.
So far today I have had 3 boiled eggs and I'm currently eating an orange. Not much, I know...but I got out of bed around noon...so I didn't exactly wake up in time for breakfast.
I have a chicken breast thawing for dinner...that will probably be paired with a generous helping of broccoli....I love broccoli!!
Here's to having a good day!! :-)

Day 4 - A chicken biscuit, a 5k & a burger
Day 4 - Saturday, October 15, 2011
I cheated Saturday...I had every intention to stay on plan, but I caved a bit. I went to the gas station that morning to grab some coffee and a piece of fruit...but the store part of the gas station was closed, no fruit. I didn't know if they'd have fruit at the event...and knew I should eat something...so I went through the McD's drive through and got a chicken biscuit.
Could I have made a better decision,? Yes. Should I have? Most definitely. I'm pretty disappointed in myself for it, but its not something I can undo...so moving on!
This brings me to something I'm very excited to talk about...Saturday I did my first 5k. It was the Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk - A very important cause to me since my grandma is a survivor herself.
I am so friggin' proud of myself...I know to some its a very small feat, but for me...this is probably one of my biggest accomplishments EVER!
I didn't jog the whole way...but I never stopped!! I would say I jogged about half of it total...not consecutively though.
Here are some pics from the event!
Hopefully this is the first of many!!!
I've been craving a Wendy's burger for a few days now...but that is one thing I have resisted (unlike the stupid chicken biscuit). Yesterday I thought about getting one...instead I went to the store and got turkey burgers...but a few pickles on them...satisfied my crazing! :-)

The first few days...
Since I started the 17 Day Diet last Wednesday, I'll catch up on the first few days in one post (copied from an accountability thread of a forum I belong to)...and then do a daily post from there on...so here goes...
Day 1 - Wednesday, 10/12/2011
First day on plan has been okay for me. I got all my water in...I don't think I've eaten enough though...I didn't wake up in time to make breakfast...so I just grabbed an orange on the way out. I had a salad for lunch and my chicken will be cooking for dinner as soon as the oven preheats! The chicken will be paired with some veggies...not sure what kind yet.
The only thing I didn't stick to today was working out. We're really behind at work so I decided on doing overtime rather than coming home and working out...hopefully I'll be better about it tomorrow.
Day 2 - Thursday, 10/13/2011
Day 2....so far so good. I ate more today...got up with enough time to cook some eggs and cut up an apple...had a gigantic salad for lunch...turkey and broccoli will be for dinner...oddly enough...I've never cooked a turkey breast...so I will be looking to Google for that.
I have my workout clothes on...running shoes on...now just looking for the willpower to get up and...RUN!
**In the end I was able to bake the turkey in some chicken broth and garlic...was pretty good! I also did my jog / walk for about a mile.
**I forgot to weight myself on Wednesday, so I weighed myself Thursday morning - starting weight is 184 lbs.
Day 3 - Friday - 10/14/2011
Day 3 for me...still on plan!
Had some eggs and an apple for breakfast...and some green tea.
For lunch I only had an orange...I know I should've eaten more...but I just wasn't hungry.
Dinner I had chicken and green beans....was rather tasty.
I got a little distracted (by MSOS
) after work and didn't make it to the gym....but I did do Wii fit at least! The Fit has a cycling game where you cycle around this town going to check marks...took me over 20 mins to complete...but according to the game, I biked over 6 miles!

Starting this back up.
I've decided to start this back up. I failed miserably at Weight Watchers...had a few big changes in my life and now I have more motivation than ever to lose the weight and overall be a healthier person.
What has happened in the past few months? The biggest thing to happen - I'm engaged to the love of my life!! It happened July 19th while vacationing in Disney. Here are a few pictures -
Once we got engaged, I officially moved in with Thomas and life has been pretty much amazing! We are planning our wedding for November 17, 2012 in Disney!! We had our engagement pictures taken in early August...here are a few favorites...
About a week ago, Thomas left on his second deployment...it's going to be difficult, but I've been through it before...I know we will make it! I'll have plenty to keep me busy while he's gone!

Been a while!
It's been a while since I posted...had two weigh-ins since...one not so good...another that wasn't great...but not horrible either.
Week 3 I gained. :-( I only gained 0.6, but it still sucks...so that put me at a total loss of 2 pounds. Last week I lost 0.8...a little disappointed that it was more of a loss, but it's still a loss. So I am now at a total of 2.8 pounds loss.
I know one of my biggest struggles is drinking as much water as I should. I normally drink NO water at all...I've always had a problem with drinking water. The flavored water shakers really help, but I know some of the water I drink should be straight water...no flavor. I've also started using straws...apparently I drink a lot faster through a straw...haha!
I started working out this week. I really like how I feel when I run...well, AFTER the running, but it's very hard on my knees and my heart. I have a heart mur-mur and a patch on my heart (open heart surgery when I was an infant). Each time I run, it feels like my legs want to keep going but I get to a point where I can barely breathe...not so easy to run then. I'm hoping its just something I need to push through. Guess we'll see!

Coming to the end of week 2!
Tomorrow will be my second weigh-in since starting WW again. I'm excited that I've been able to keep on plan for two weeks straight. One of my biggest challenges has always been tracking what I eat...two weeks straight I've tracked everything. :-)
I've tried to resist from hopping on a scale during the week - but rather wait until my Thursday weigh-ins...but I weighed myself tonight...according to my scale I'm down a little more than two pounds...but we'll see what happens tomorrow!

My birthday cake!
I found a very healthy recipe for a tasty treat...Thomas actually made it as my birthday cake (pic in below post).
Blueberry Squares
PointsPlus value per serving - 2.
The first time I tried it...pretty much failed. They're serious when they say to use a 3- x 13-inch dish...8 x 8 just won't cut it!
Blueberry Squares
- 1 package angel food cake mix, about 14.5 oz.
- 22 oz light blueberry pie filling (actually any flavor pie filling will work...we tried blueberry and cherry).
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Combine 2 ingredients (do not add any other ingredients). Pour batter into an ungreased 9- x 13-inch baking dish; bake for 30 minutes. Cool and cut into 24 pieces. Makes 24 servings.

Got a new phone which I can blog from...Thomas cooked dinner and made a healthy cake...all in all a good day. :-)

First weigh-in
So I had my first weigh-in after beginning WW. I forgot to mention my starting weight in previous posts. My beginning weight was (hah...I like being able to say was) 178.6. Today I weighed in at 177.2...so I lost 1.4. Not as much as I would have liked to, especially with it being the first week, however I'm proud of the loss despite the challenges I had this week. I'm proud that I recorded everything last weekend while being a bridesmaid in my brother's wedding. I also just started my period (sorry if TMI, boys) yesterday...could have water weight that will hopefully come off next week.

Here's hoping for another great week!

I had a donut.
Got a donut this morning...cake donuts are the best! Six points...so not too bad...and they're sweet enough that I really can just have one. :-) Hoping for a good day...it's my Friday at work! Weigh-in tomorrow too! I'm resisting the urge to weigh myself so I wait a week to see my total loss for week one. :-)

Trouble using all my points!
I had four points left that I couldn't figure out what to use them on...never thought that would happen!
I had a salad...thought my dressing would cover the rest of my points...but I still had two left...so I added croutons too!
<-- Love this dressing...I want to figure out how to make it myself too though...homemade ginger dressing is so tasty!
I didn't have too many challenges today...I had a coupon in my email for a free Auntie Anne's pretzel...almost went to get it but opted to eat an actual meal for lunch and save the coupon for later. The coupon is actually a BOGO one...so I'd end up getting two and have to either eat both...or give one away. I'll save it for when the boyfriend and I are out and about...he can buy a pretzel and give me the free one! :-)
Speaking of the boyfriend...he is being so supportive of this journey. I really am very lucky to have him (he is of course equally as luck :-) ). I had a challenging weekend since we were in GA all weekend for my brother's wedding...rehearsal dinner and wedding food is not exactly WW friendly! He praised me on how well I kept track of everything I ate.
When we returned to Jacksonville, I chose a recipe from my WW cookbook and we both went to the store to buy ingredients. It means a lot that he is doing this with me. He has virtually no weight to lose. Actually, he could gain some and be perfectly fine. He has been very disciplined for a long time on his fitness routine.
I'm also very grateful that regardless of whether I lost weight or not, he will always love me. I truly feel like I am doing WW for me rather than for anyone else. I want to be comfortable in my skin. I feel like I am attractive, but that I need to change my habits now so I have a long and healthy life. I have horrible eating habits...they will catch up to me sooner or later if I don't change them now! :-)

Day 4
So this is my blog...I haven't blogged since I was in high school, so lets see how this goes. :-)
Why a blog about my journey to a more fit me? I think it may help keep me on track. I joined Weight Watchers at work last week. I've done WW probably three times previously and always given up. This time, I want to stick with it and do it right. So far, I've done okay.
My brother got married last weekend. It was a beautiful ceremony...lots of food around of course. I think I did great! Not only did I resist over-eating, but I also wrote down all that I ate
and kept track of my points!
Keeping track of my points is the hardest part of WW in my opinion. Its getting late...so this won't be much of a post...hopefully I'll have some more time to post tomorrow. :-)
